October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, meant to celebrate survivors, honor those who have died, and promote social change. Domestic Harmony has served Hillsdale County, Michigan for 41 years, offering a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, and prevention education.
According to Executive Director, Hannah Jordan, during the week of October 4th, the organization will display purple flags on the Hillsdale County courthouse lawn to honor local survivors.
