Firefighters from two departments battled a blaze that heavily damaged a home in the city of Hillsdale Wednesday night.
Hillsdale City firefighters were dispatched to 83 Union Street, just around the corner from the fire department, at 8:19 pm.
Chief Scott Hephner told WCSR news, smoke and flames were coming from the home when crews arrived…
The Jonesville Fire Department was dispatched to assist.
Hephner said the fire apparently started in the kitchen–it burned through an exterior wall.
There was smoke & water damage through much of the home, which was unoccupied, as it was undergoing renovations.
There were no injuries…
Hephner said the fire remains under investigation– However, authorities do not suspect foul play.
About 15 firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours, clearing the scene around 10:45 pm.
