The Hillsdale City Council approved the purchase of vehicles for the Public Service and Water & Sewer departments, along with a new patrol vehicle for the Police Department. 

At their latest meeting, councilmembers voted to purchase a pair of GMC Sierra pickup trucks from Hillsdale GMC–one each for the Department of Public Services and the Water & Sewer Department, 

The local dealer had the lowest bid for the trucks, at just under $42,000 each. 

The half-ton, double cab trucks are expected to be delivered this summer. 

The truck purchases were included in each department’s budget for the year. 

 

The Council also approved $40,600 for the purchase of a new Chevy Tahoe for the police department. 

Police Chief Scott Hephner requested the purchase be made through Berger Chevrolet of Grand Rapids. the dealership has the vehicle in stock–

Council approved an additional $11,800 to outfit the patrol vehicle. 

The purchase will be paid for with funds from the public safety millage.
