Today is a day to thank, honor and remember Vietnam Veterans.
By Presidential Proclamation, today is Vietnam Veterans Day.
Ceremonies have been held around the country to honor and remember those who served in the war in Southeast Asia.
The Hillsdale American Legion Post 53 held a flag raising ceremony this morning, featuring a presentation by the U.S. 12 Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The Waldron VFW and Hillsdale High School Music Department participated as well.
A wreath-laying ceremony was scheduled today at The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.
The Memorial has 58,276 names of those who died in the conflict engraved in black granite. It’s the most-visited monument on the National Mall
As they age, estimates are that we lose several hundred Vietnam veterans each day.
