Authorities in Lenawee County took part in an operation to help take down two alleged sexual predators from other parts of the state. 

Sheriff Troy Bevier tells WCSR News The arrests were the result of an undercover operation between the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (G.H.O.S.T.) from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation culminated with the arrest, Tuesday, of a 42 year-old Mason Man and a 52 year-old Ottawa Lake man. 

Bevier said both men drove to Lenawee County to meet with what they believed to be an underaged girl. Both suspects were arrested and lodged at the Lenawee County Jail.

Bevier said his office will seek a number of felony charges against the men whose names have not been released pending arraignment. 

The charges include Solicitation of a minor for immoral purpose; Child sexually abusive activity and Using a computer to commit a crime. The Mason man faces an additional charge of violation of the sex offender registry. 

An additional charge of Felony Firearm possession is expected to be leveled against the Ottawa Lake man. 

Bevier said the investigation is ongoing.
