A Jerome man will spend a minimum of 57 months in prison in the fatal shooting of a local woman outside his home last summer.
27 year-old Jonathan Ressler appeared for sentencing in Hillsdale County Circuit Court, Monday.
He was sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison, in the August 12th shooting death of 26 year-old Tasha Cole.
He pled no contest, back in march, to a charge of manslaughter–(aiming a weapon with intent but without malice)
In exchange for his plea, charges of open murder and felony firearm were dismissed at sentencing.
Cole was shot to death outside Ressler’s home on Opel Drive.
Ressler had been away from the home when a family member called to alert him that Cole had entered the house without permission.
He returned home and escorted her outside at gunpoint. That’s when the shooting occurred.
