Adams Township voters opted to recall two members of the township board in Tuesday’s special election.

The vote to recall Supervisor Mark Nichols and Clerk Stephanie Scott was nearly two-to-one in favor of their opponents.

With more than 63 percent of the votes, Township Trustee Randy Johnson defeated Nichols 394-to-222 to win the Supervisor’s seat. .

Suzy Roberts garnered more than 65-percent of the vote to defeat Scott 406-to-214 to take the Clerk’s position.

The recall stems from Nichols’ vote against buying a new vote tabulator at a cost of $5,500.

The effort to recall Scott was initiated after she was sanctioned by the state for refusing to allow for maintenance work on township voting equipment.

Scott made national news for her claims of fraud during the 2020 Presidential election and for her refusal to cooperate in the investigation into the alleged mishandling of voting equipment.
