Michigan State Police say while many people work to protect their personal and banking information, many are unaware of the threat of identity theft to children.  — 

On average, about one in every 50 children will have their identity stolen. 

There are some warning signs you can look out for — They include: Receiving credit card offers in the mail–or receiving collection calls for things you didn’t buy.

If you suspect fraud, you can  contact the three major credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your child’s credit report.
