The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced the closure of M-49 over Little Hog Creek north of Reading for a culvert replacement project. The closure is set to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7th. .
MDOT officials say the work is part of an ongoing initiative to improve drainage and ensure the stability of M-49. Earlier this summer, the highway was shut down for a few weeks as part of the same project.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes during the closure, which is expected to last until September 29th.
MDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time while the necessary repairs are being made. Officials say crews will work to complete the culvert replacement as quickly and efficiently as possible.
